37 years of pride and quality at Radisson: Meet our Head Housekeeper in Tromsø

For nearly four decades, May Britt Paulsen has been a driving force in the housekeeping team at Radisson in Tromsø. As Head Housekeeper, she is not just a link between employees, management and guests — she is a role model for how well-being and quality are created through openness and leadership.

May Britt started working in January 1988 as a temporary room attendant for six months. Gradually, she became an assistant, later a senior assistant, and when the Head Housekeeper left, she took over the responsibility. In 2018, she was permanently hired as Head Housekeeper.

"I have worked here for 37 years. I feel like a hotel person — no two days are alike. It is a demanding and challenging job, especially because of winter tourism, but also an exciting one."

"What makes me most proud is the staff. They do a demanding job and deliver quality in a short time. It is physically hard work, and I truly appreciate their efforts. Many have been here for many years and choose to stay because they enjoy it."

"We have a good partnership with the hotel. We have been with Ability for two years now. There were many new IT programs that were challenging at first, but it is going well now. Small things pop up here and there, but we solve them together."

At Ability, we are committed to solutions that simplify everyday life for both hotel management and cleaning teams. We work closely with our clients to ensure quality, well-being and efficient operations — and not least: we adapt.
